Named by the Spanish in 1693, Perdido Key translates to “Lost Key” and was a hidden gem on the Gulf Coast until then. The Key is linked to the mainland and the neighboring state of Alabama by bridges, and those who are willing to make the short drive across them agree that this island is definitely worth a visit.
Perdido Key is famous for its spectacular beaches with soft, sugary sand and calm waters along the Gulf Coast. Plus, the island of Perdido Key gives residents and visitors alike the convenience that comes with plenty of shopping, dining, entertainment, and recreational opportunities all in one place.
There is something to do for people of all ages on Perdido Key. Visit Gulf Island National Seashore or Historic Pensacola District.
