Pensacola’s award-winning Pensacola Beach is on Santa Rosa Island and not only has soft, white sands but many great fishing spots, old historical sites, and local hangouts as well.
Pensacola Beach is known for its old Florida atmosphere and casual beach lifestyle with the Gulf of Mexico on one side of the island and the Santa Rosa Sound on the other side. Public beaches are everywhere while all nearby shopping, dining, and local attractions are easily accessible by sidewalks between the two waterfronts.
A variety of bars, shops, and restaurants can be found at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk overlooking the clear, gentle waters on the northern shore and the famous white sand that’s perfect for building sandcastles and relaxing in a beach chair. Everything in such close proximity keeps travel and cost to a minimum.
The atmosphere at Pensacola Beach can range anywhere between the lively crowds at the main beaches or quieter beaches away from the noise that are much more peaceful and secluded. Plus, no matter which season it is, Pensacola Beach’s weather is mild and sunny most days out of the year, so beachgoers can enjoy the sun and sand whenever they like.
Pensacola Beach is also bordered by the Gulf Islands National Seashore on both sides, which is a great place to visit. This national park is perfect for activities like kayaking, biking, snorkeling, or exploring walking trails.
One of the longest piers in the Gulf of Mexico can be found here as well. The Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier stretches over 1400 feet over the Gulf and is a fantastic fishing spot. Breathtaking sunsets, playful dolphins, and manatees can all be seen from the pier as well.
